At Kiverco, we are proud to have partnered with Dunmow Group to deliver a brand-new, multi-million-pound recycling plant at the company’s main recycling centre in Chelmsford. This is a facility that sets a new benchmark for efficiency, safety and sustainability in the UK waste management sector.
Representing a £5 million investment, the new Kiverco-designed plant was completed in just 13 weeks and became fully operational by August. This bespoke solution has doubled Dunmow’s processing capacity compared to its previous system, which had been in operation since 2012, allowing the business to handle up to 600 tonnes of waste per day.
Built to meet Dunmow’s growing operational demands, the new plant is testament to Kiverco’s engineering excellence and commitment to helping customers maximise throughput, improve material recovery and reduce environmental impact.
Engineered for Efficiency and Sustainability
The Kiverco system integrates advanced screening and separation technology to ensure maximum recovery across a wide range of materials. Waste is efficiently sized and processed through a sequence of magnets, screeners, and precision mechanical sorting equipment, before being separated into 17 dedicated bays for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardcore, wood, stone and other recyclable streams.
Each element of the design reflects Kiverco’s emphasis on quality, safety and long-term reliability. Specialist picking cabins ensure clean, high-grade outputs for reuse, as well as for Energy from Waste (EfW) or Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) production. The facility also incorporates real-time CCTV monitoring with people detection and thermal imaging, alongside Fireward fire suppression systems, offering best-in-class operational safety and early fire detection.
Optimised yard layouts and streamlined material flow further enhance service speeds, helping Dunmow, who are Essex’s largest skip hire provider, deliver a faster and more sustainable service to its customers.
