Recycling Park Dorndorf GmbH (RPD GmbH) has been a trusted partner in the German waste processing market for over 25 years. With extensive experience in handling household and commercial waste, RPD GmbH has consistently sought ways to adapt to market and legislative changes while maintaining high product quality.
The Challenge
RPD GmbH faced significant challenges due to new German legislation imposing tighter restrictions on waste treatment. Their feed material, Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) which is sourced both locally and across Europe, required more efficient processing, particularly in screening fine materials. The inability to properly screen fines was affecting product quality and limiting potential revenue.
Recognising the need to improve quality and comply with legislation, RPD GmbH sought a solution that would not only enhance existing products but also allow them to introduce new marketable materials.

The Kiverco Solution
Through Christophel GmbH, a well-established German materials handling equipment supplier, RPD GmbH was introduced to Kiverco’s recycling technology. After site visits and demonstrations of Kiverco equipment, they decided to install a Kiverco Feeder and Trommel at their certified waste processing facility.
Key outcomes of the solution included:
- Creation of a new fines product for resale
- Improved quality of existing products
- Increased processing capacity
- Greater profitability
The Kiverco technical team collaborated closely with Christophel GmbH to optimise the plant layout and installation, ensuring a smooth setup with precise engineering execution.

Results & Impact
The installation exceeded expectations, delivering tangible operational and financial benefits:
- New revenue streams: The fines product opened a new market opportunity.
- Enhanced product quality: Existing RDF products achieved higher quality standards, making them more competitive for export.
- Operational efficiency: Increased capacity reduced bottlenecks and improved throughput.
