New for Old Upgrade for Henshaws
Henshaws of Macclesfield, a leading family-run waste management company in Cheshire, continues to strengthen its recycling operations with the introduction of new equipment to its 16-acre site. Employing over 70 staff, the business provides a wide range of services including plant and skip hire, aggregates, scrap car and metal recycling, and tipping facilities.
Following the appointment of the Finlay Group as a licensed hirer, Henshaws selected a Kiverco PS122 Picking Station alongside a Terex Finlay 883+ heavy duty screener to enhance their processing capabilities.
The Challenge
Henshaws required a more efficient and flexible solution to replace an ageing static picking station. The goal was to improve material recovery, increase operational efficiency, and maintain high throughput while handling a varied waste stream across their busy site.
The Solution
Working in collaboration with Finlay Central, Henshaws implemented a modern, mobile processing setup tailored to their needs.
At the heart of the system is the Kiverco PS122 Picking Station, equipped with an overband magnetic module to recover ferrous metals.
The unit is fed by the Terex Finlay 883+ screener, which separates incoming material into three sizes:
- -25mm fraction
- 25–100mm fraction (further processed via a density separator to produce a clean stone product)
- Oversize material directed to the picking station
A four-person picking line removes recyclable materials such as wood, plastic and cardboard, while heavier materials are crushed and sold as aggregate.
The Outcome
The mobile nature of the PS122 allows for rapid setup and flexibility, delivering the performance of a static plant with the added benefits of mobility. Combined with the high-capacity Terex Finlay 883+, capable of processing up to 500 tonnes per hour, the system provides a highly efficient and productive solution.
The new setup has significantly improved operational efficiency, material recovery, and ease of use.
Both machines are now set to join Henshaws’ extensive hire fleet, further enhancing their business offering.
